I attended Edinburgh art college after leaving school and I contemplated the future of computer technology and how I might be able to apply my artistic flair, unfortunately I had to wait 20 years before I could actually do something !
My father was an inventor and he had many patents for futuristic ideas, some of these became reality and he made a living from this. I became fascinated with computers and I secretly used my dad’s IBM XT computer (about £3000 at the time) and loaded up Wolfenstein 3D, that was it, I was hooked. After a bit of a telling off I asked my Dad if I could have any old parts. Over the next few months I successfully built a gaming PC. It was an Intel 386 CPU, 4MB RAM, Sound Blaster card and a Diamond Stealth 2MB graphics card.
I have owned a Sinclair the ZX81, Sharp MZ80, Sinclair Spectrum, Tandy TRS80, Commodore 64, Atari ST, Amiga 500, to name just a few and currently have an Intel i9 13900K with an RTX3080Ti.
Anyway, you are probably bored senseless by now but I think you can see that gaming computers are a big part of my life.
